How I look after your information.
This page explains what I use, why I need it, who helps me provide the service and the choices you have. I do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

The short version
I only use what I need.
Your order details help me take payment, prepare and deliver your reading, keep your private order area working and reply when you contact me.
Your reading question, context, messages and finished reading stay private. They are never used for advertising and are not shared with Trustpilot.
Orders and readings
The information used for your order
This can include your name, email address, reading choices, question, context, details about people you mention, messages and the reading I prepare for you.
I use it to provide the service you asked for. In legal terms, this is necessary to complete the agreement between us when you place an order.
Share thoughtfully
Please keep sensitive details to a minimum.
I do not ask you for medical records, financial details, passwords, official identification numbers or other highly sensitive information. Please do not include them in a reading request or private message.
If you mention somebody else, please share only what is genuinely needed to explain your question.
Payments
Your card details do not pass through this site.
Stripe or PayPal handles your payment as part of completing your order. I receive the payment result, amount, provider reference and information needed to match the payment to your order.
Emails and private access
Messages and private conversations
I use your email address for confirmations, secure sign in links, reading delivery, replies and other necessary updates. These messages are part of providing the service, not marketing.
Messages sent through the site are kept together as one private conversation for your email address. The conversation text is stored in private file storage rather than copied into notification emails. The database keeps the details needed to connect each message to the right customer and conversation.
Private sign in links expire after 15 minutes. A customer session expires after one hour.
Trustpilot
An invitation to share honest feedback
After a completed reading, I may give Trustpilot your name, email address and order reference so it can invite you to leave a service review. Your question, reading, messages and payment details are not included.
I have a legitimate interest in understanding customer experiences, improving the service and helping future customers make an informed choice. Invitations are sent consistently after the same stage of a completed order. I do not choose people based on whether I expect a positive review.
The invitation is not used to add you to a marketing list. You can unsubscribe using the link in Trustpilot's email, or email me before your reading is completed if you do not want an invitation.
Analytics
Simple website statistics
I collect basic statistics about how the website is used so I can improve it. This can include pages visited, reading options viewed, general referral information and an approximate area such as country or city.
It does not contain your name, email address, reading question, messages, reading content or raw IP address. Short lived visitor and session identifiers are kept for no more than seven days, and the browser visitor identifier is replaced after seven days. After that, only anonymous statistical totals are kept, so older activity can no longer be tied back to the same visitor or session.
Privacy law allows this kind of low risk measurement when it is used only for statistics and improvement and people can object. You can turn it off free of charge at any time.
Limited promotions
Keeping one per customer offers fair
For some limited one per customer sales, the order service uses your network address to create a keyed pseudonymous identifier. The raw IP address is not stored in this promotion protection record.
I use the identifier only to help prevent repeated claims of the same limited sale. It is kept separately for that specific promotion and is removed after no more than seven days, or when the sale ends, whichever happens first. This supports my legitimate interest in preventing promotion abuse and keeping limited offers fair for customers.
Essential site features
Sign in, checkout and orders
The site uses necessary browser storage and secure cookies for checkout, customer sign in, order access, preferences and the owner dashboard. These are used only when needed to provide the features you request.
How long information stays
I do not keep everything forever.
Order and payment records are kept while needed to provide the service and meet accounting, tax, fraud prevention and legal responsibilities. Reading history and private conversations may remain available in your customer area unless you ask me to remove them and there is no legal reason to keep them.
I keep a basic record of whether a Trustpilot invitation was sent so the same order is not invited twice.

Who helps me provide the service
These providers receive only the information needed for their part of the service:

- Hosts the front of the website.

- Website hosting, the private order database and private reading and message storage.
- Stripe or PayPal
- Secure payment processing.
- Resend
- Order, reading and secure access emails.
- Cloudflare and PurelyMail
- Secure delivery of the request sent to Trustpilot.
- Trustpilot
- Service review invitations and reviews you choose to submit.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Their privacy terms include the safeguards required when information crosses borders.
Keeping information safe
Private by design
Private order, reading and conversation information is restricted to the customer and owner areas. Connections are encrypted, sign in links are time limited and secret access tokens are not stored in a usable form.
No system can promise absolute security. If I become aware of a personal information breach, I will assess it and make any notifications required by law.
Your information, your choices
You can ask me about your information.
You can ask what I hold about you and ask me to correct it. Depending on the circumstances, you may also ask me to delete it, limit how it is used, provide it in a portable format, or withdraw consent where consent is being used.
You can object at any time to analytics or to the use of your details for a Trustpilot invitation. Turning analytics off does not affect checkout, your orders or private sign-in features.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
