About me
I didn’t grow up believing in tarot.
I was curious about it for a long time, but curiosity and belief were two very different things for me.
When I was a kid, I did not really believe in tarot or much of the whimsy around it. Psychics told me I had a gift, but I never knew what to make of that. When you are a child and someone tells you that you are gifted, it is difficult to know whether they genuinely see something in you or they are simply being kind.
I did grow up around spiritual ideas. I went to a Spiritualist church as a child, so I was taught to believe in an afterlife and ghosts. Tarot was different. I was curious about it, and I always found the mystic side of things fascinating, but I was still sceptical. What kept pulling me back was how deep the subject seemed.
How I found tarot
Tarot became important to me when I was pretty lost myself.
I had gone through a dark time in my life. I had lost the friends and people I used to talk to, and I did not really know where I was going. I started with YouTube pick-a-card readings, then moved on to buying readings from Etsy.
Eventually I bought my own deck. It mostly sat there at first because I had no idea how to interpret the cards, so I carried on watching other readers instead. As time went on, I started noticing that I could often predict the direction of their reading from the cards they had pulled before they explained them.
That was what made me go back to the deck I had almost forgotten about. This time it did not feel completely unreadable. I could actually start to make out what the spread was trying to tell me, and that was the point where tarot stopped being something I only watched other people do.
The Oneness Reader
Then I found the deck that gave me the confidence to keep going.
I saw the Oneness deck in a YouTube video and it resonated with me so strongly that I bought it. That became a turning point for me. I kept reading, learning and slowly becoming more confident in my own interpretations.
Not long after that, I opened my Etsy store. Reading for other people gave me another reason to keep improving and to trust what I was seeing in the cards. The Oneness Reader grew from there, and eventually I wanted it to have a home of its own rather than only existing on a marketplace. That is how this website came to be.
I am still learning and improving, and I do not think that part ever really stops. Every reading here is pulled with physical cards and written by me around the question in front of me.
